The Soloist

The Soloist is the kind of movie I want to watch more of.

Yesterday I watched a movie with the same actor: Robert Downey Jr. called Iron Man 2, and although Mr Downey was excellent in the role I found the plot and action to be so outside of the reality I want to build for myself that after the titles rolled I decided to be careful of the influences and ideas that I feed into this mind.

By contrast - The Soloist embodies values that I hold in esteem such as friendship and persistence and love and caring. I need so much more practice with these values. I would much rather be influenced by movies such as The Soloist than by the rock and roll violence of movies such as Iron Man 2.

Good Things Happen

During our adult years, try as we might to see ourselves as misfortunate so that we can get a little sympathy; sooner or later good things happen to us.
